For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of sharing my self-development journey online. The idea of documenting my growth, celebrating the wins, and even navigating the messy middle has always felt exciting and empowering. Yet fear has kept me in the shadows for years. I stopped posting anything in 2017, and by the time 2021 rolled around, I had developed a deep fear of being seen and heard—even WITHOUT showing my face online.
But something has shifted in me this year. I’m DONE getting in my own way.
This is where I’ve been, what I’ve learned, and how I’m finally moving forward—messy, imperfect, but showing up anyway.
Where I’ve Been: My Hiatus and Self-Sabotage
Life happened after 2017. The extra responsibilities, self-doubt, and perfectionism crept in. By 2021, I had convinced myself I wasn’t ready to share online. I kept telling myself, “What if it’s not good enough? What if people don’t resonate with my message?”
Spring of this year, I attempted to break the silence by writing my first blog post in years. But even that fell by the wayside as I hesitated to press "publish" again. Then I invested in the Digital Wealth Academy (DWA), knowing it was a stepping stone to building, not just my dream business, but my dream life. But I let it sit there, untouched, until recently. I was sleeping on my potential, paralyzed by my fear of imperfection.
This fear wasn’t just about creating content—it was about me. Deep down, I knew that I was sabotaging my future by waiting for the “perfect moment", the “perfect post", the “perfect plan".
The Inner Work That’s Helping Me Show Up
Lately, I’ve been diving deep into inner work. I’ve been challenging my self-sabotaging habits and working on my mindset. The biggest lesson? Progress beats perfection every. single. time.
Instead of letting fear dictate my actions, I’m now choosing to simply show up. Messy. Imperfect. and Faceless if I need to. Because showing up is what builds momentum, and momentum is what builds success.
As I’ve been learning and applying the lessons inside DWA, I’ve realized that action, no matter how small, is what bridges the gap between being a Dreamer and being a Doer. It’s not about creating the “perfect” post—it’s about creating the habit of showing up.
My Promise to Myself: Stop Waiting, Start Doing
I’ve made a promise to myself: to stop waiting for everything to feel perfect and to just start posting. This journey isn’t just about me—it’s about showing other Late Bloomers that it’s never too late to start.
The dreams I have for 2025 require action now. If I want to accomplish big things next year, I can’t afford to let another month slip by.
Action Steps for YOUR Transformation
If you’ve ever felt paralyzed by fear, perfectionism, or self-doubt, you’re not alone. Here are some actionable steps to help you start showing up for yourself today:
1. Identify Your Fears: Write down what’s holding you back. Is it fear of judgment? Fear of failure? Acknowledge it so you can move past it.
2. Take Small Steps: Commit to one small action daily. Whether it’s writing one post, filming one video, or simply brainstorming ideas, focus on building momentum.
3. Embrace Imperfection: Remember, progress beats perfection. The more you show up, the better you’ll get over time. Done is better than perfect.
4. Set a Deadline: Give yourself a timeline to take action. For me, it’s showing up before 2025 starts. For you, it might be posting once a week or launching a project by a specific date.
5. Celebrate Small Wins: Every step forward is progress. Celebrate each post, each lesson learned, and each moment you choose to push past fear.
It's never too late to start. Show up messy. Show up imperfect. Just show up.Done is better than perfect.
This blog post isn’t just about my journey—it’s about encouraging you to start yours. If you’ve been waiting for the “right” time to start, consider this your sign. Whatever your big dreams are for 2025, the time to take action is NOW.
Leave a comment below sharing one small step you’ll take this week to move closer to your goals. Let’s normalize showing up messy, imperfect, and authentic—because that’s where the magic happens.
